There was a difference in opinion between the technical advisor and the management of the saltworks.
As usual, this article is written without any consideration for others. The day before the full moon, I prayed fervently to meet a key person involved in salt production, and the next day, that person appeared at the guesthouse where I was staying. The following day, he drove me to the port to take me to the island.

・This video introduces the real-world footage of the island featured in the manga title “MAHARAJIMA”
・Synopsis of the main story of MAHARAJIMA: Three “Maharajito” from KODAKARAJIMA in the Tokara Islands of Kagoshima Prefecture, Nasake-jima Island in Yamaguchi Prefecture, and Harajima in Nagasaki Prefecture, who belong to the Kyushu-Yamaguchi Alliance, visited Ushima to search .
The protagonist Aoi (the Mahara-bito of KODAKARAJIMA) gains the opportunity to tour a saltworks there.
• The manga is planned for self-publication on Amazon once the YouTube channel reaches over 1,000 subscribers.
• This creative work is fiction, and any characters, organizations, locations, or country names depicted are unrelated to real-world entities.
Location of Ushima
There is only one port on the mainland side: Murotsumi Port. There is no bus stop nearby, so you will need to walk for about 10 minutes.
The number of buses does not match the port’s departure and arrival times, so you will need to allow plenty of time.
Also, the bus stop had no roof, only a standing sign, so I couldn’t find it at first. Google Maps often shows the location of bus stops incorrectly… I asked some male workers who were walking nearby and they told me where it was.

Are you going up from there?

There were other passengers as well.

The captain (who will retire in 2024, at which point a younger person will take over) is from Kagoshima, just like me.
The scenery of Ushima
The captain opened the door to the saltworks for me. After that, we parted ways and he started working in the fields.
Two hours wasn’t nearly enough time! I wanted at least three hours, but I had to be at Hiroshima Station by 5:00 p.m. that day. I had made an appointment to meet another man (a professional photographer). Carrying my large suitcase, I was still on a tight schedule.

The women on the island were waiting for my return.
Without taking a lunch break.
Perhaps because Ira came from Singapore (apparently for the first time), she said she would explain the history of the island to me using photographs. Well, thank you.

On the way back to Hiroshima Station
The captain cut the tomatoes he had harvested from his field with a knife and treated me to a meal.
I ate breakfast at around 6:00 this morning and haven’t eaten anything since. I’m heading to Hiroshima Station without eating anything.
I’m very grateful.

My suitcase weighs nearly 30 kg. My fingers have become thicker after seven months of a demanding schedule during the summer.
