When I returned to Singapore for the first time in three months, I noticed that the number of wild chickens had increased.

Chickens start crowing before 3 a.m.

At 5:00 in the morning, other birds begin to sing as well.
It is difficult for people who dislike birds to live in Singapore.
The neighbors keep eight large birds. They continue to chirp until around 8 p.m. When birds are kept outside, their chirping is particularly loud. When editing YouTube videos, the birds’ chirping is also recorded.
Chickens in Singapore jump higher than those in Japan.

Singapore is expensive, but chicken costs about the same as in Japan.

These chickens are owned by the Singapore government. Where do the eggs they lay every day go? Snakes are rarely seen, so maybe birds eat them?
Incidentally, there are apparently large snakes, but I have never seen any around my house. Wild lizards live in a nearby pond. They run away when humans approach, so it is unlikely that they will bite. Large lizards can grow to over 1 meter in length. Wild crocodiles also live in the sea around Singapore. I will write about that in a separate article next time.

While Singapore is often promoted as a tourist destination for its Merlion and food, it is also a diverse environment with extensive tropical rainforests. When viewed from above, the forests appear connected, and Japanese landscape architects once advised the Singaporean government on this matter.
In Japan, there are many cities with few street trees and concrete landscapes. In Singapore, that is not the case. Trees and nature are almost always visible in the scenery. I moved to Singapore because I desired that lifestyle, and here I am today. However, the constant chirping of chickens and neighborhood birds throughout the day was unexpected. It exacerbated my sleep disorders.
