Signs often seen in Singapore

Signs with illustrations are great for conveying messages clearly!
As expected of Singapore, a multi-ethnic, multilingual country.
I participated in volunteer activities in Singapore this time.
Some parts of the activity can be filmed, but my English is far from native level. I’m afraid I might misunderstand something. Normally, filming is completely prohibited in this area. Even while we were volunteering, the police came by to check on us. The volunteer leader told me, “You can film here, but not there.”
$10 is the volunteer participation fee.
Normally, there is no participation fee for volunteering. This time, we had to pay $10 because we needed to rent equipment.

After the volunteer activity ended, a meal was prepared.
It was a bento box that seemed to combine Malay and Chinese cuisine. The bento box was the type that could be used on a daily basis. Everyone took theirs home.
The leaders also treated us to sweets. This was probably because we participated before Chinese New Year.
It is unclear whether sweets are given at other times of the year.
Considering the cost of food and drink in Singapore, this is more than enough to cover the $10 cost. It’s more reliable than getting your money’s worth at an all-you-can-eat restaurant in Japan.
And strangely enough, there was no mention of lunch boxes in the preliminary information about the volunteer activity.
I think more people would participate if it were mentioned, but maybe Singaporeans aren’t calculating by nature. No, I know a lot of calculating people!

Unlimited participation
I might participate again. It takes half a day, but you can do volunteer work in an unusual place. You’ll get sunburned because you’re outdoors the whole time, but you’ll definitely get more freckles and age spots!

I did volunteer work at a hospital for several years.
I don’t participate in outdoor volunteer activities because it’s too hot.
Ira was the only Japanese participant. Moreover, he participated alone. Neither his friends nor family participated.
The activity took place on Saturday. The leader assigned buddies based on age group.
I was paired with a Singaporean man in his late 20s.
The average age of the participants seemed to be in their early 30s. The oldest participant was a man in his late 50s, my buddy’s uncle.
